Editorial scores reflect listed features and buyer fit; they are not laboratory measurements or customer ratings.
Platform flexibility
The compact USB-C dongle supports a broad mix of consoles and mobile devices, making this a practical shared headset across several gaming setups.
Wireless mode switching
A tap switches between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth, which helps when moving between game audio and calls or media.
Battery and charging
The 60-hour battery headline and fast-charge example make battery capacity and top-ups central strengths on paper.
Audio customization
The companion app offers presets for named games, giving players a way to tailor the audio profile without relying only on one setting.
Microphone design
The fully retractable microphone can be tucked away when it is not needed, though microphone design alone does not establish call quality.

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Nova 5X if you want a wireless headset that can move among Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch and mobile devices.
The compact USB-C dongle handles the listed platforms, and Bluetooth adds a separate route for calls and media.
It also fits players who value long intervals between charges and want a quick top-up option. The stated battery figure is 60 hours, and USB-C fast charging is described as providing six hours of use after 15 minutes.
The headset suits players who want built-in adjustments for game and audio balance, plus a microphone that can retract when not in use.
Who should skip it
Consider another headset if your setup depends on a spare hot-swappable battery to keep gaming while the main battery charges; this headset offers 60-hour battery life and USB-C fast charging for 6 hours of use in 15 minutes.
If active noise cancellation is essential, check whether this headset meets that need before buying. For frequent calls in windy conditions, check whether the fully retractable ClearCast 2.X microphone’s call performance suits your setup.
Arctis Nova 5X Review: How It Fits a Multi-System Gaming Setup
Wireless flexibility for mixed devices
The combination of a compact USB-C dongle and Bluetooth gives the Nova 5X two useful paths: connect to a supported gaming platform through the dongle, then switch to Bluetooth for a call or media.
That is a practical design for players whose headset also serves a phone or tablet, although the supplied platform compatibility should be checked against the exact device and connection needs.
Battery life and charging rhythm
A 60-hour battery rating is aimed at longer stretches between charges, while the fast-charge example offers a way to recover several hours of use quickly.
Treat those figures as planning guidance: actual time between charges will depend on how the headset is used.
Preset audio and headset controls
The companion app’s game presets let players select tailored profiles for supported titles, while the physical controls handle common adjustments such as mute, volume and ChatMix.
This pairing is useful if you like both app-based audio choices and quick changes without leaving the headset, but presets are a convenience feature rather than proof of a particular sound preference.
Retractable microphone practicality
The ClearCast 2.X microphone retracts when you want a less prominent setup outside voice chat, and its chipset specification gives buyers a concrete technical point to compare.
A chipset figure cannot predict how it will sound in a particular room, so frequent callers should consider their environment and needs.
